The minimum salary is $34.481 per hour
This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable.
Pay Grade 525
This position is eligible for Hazardous Duty Supplemental Pay ($90/month, $0.52c/hour) and CDL pay ($1.08/hour) upon hire.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to schedule, supervise and assist in the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of vehicles owned by the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Associate's degree in a field related to the job
- Four (4) years of related experience
- Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
- Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Schedules, plans, and assigns vehicle maintenance and repair jobs to staff
- Supervises and assists staff with the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of vehicles as needed
- Verifies the proper completion of work orders
- Gathers, organizes, analyzes, examines, and evaluates data of diagnosis
- Performs administrative duties such as those related to supervisory responsibilities, work-order maintenance-tracking, inventory, insurance, warranties, and reporting
- Conducts and/or attends meetings on service, safety, and other topics as needed
- Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
All Certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.
- Valid Kentucky Commercial Driver's License (CDL)-Class B and a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner's Certificate and must be maintained as a condition of employment
- 7 certifications from the Fleet Services Heavy Equipment approved list
- CDL holders are subject to FMCSA query prior to qualification

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must furnish own tools.
- May be subject to emergency call-back.
- Must be able to work some evenings, weekends, and in the event of an emergency
- All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
