Safely operate a county-owned bus for:
After-school program pick-ups
Summer camp field trips
Special programs
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete required documentation.
Ensure all passengers follow safety procedures, including proper seating and behavior expectations.
Maintain accurate attendance and transportation logs.
Communicate with program staff regarding routes, schedules, and any delays.
Follow all traffic laws and county safety regulations.
Report mechanical issues, accidents, incidents, or concerns immediately to a supervisor.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bus interior.
Assist staff with loading and unloading participants when necessary.
Attend required staff meetings and safety trainings.
Represent Lancaster County Parks and Recreation in a professional manner at all times.
Primarily weekday afternoons for after-school routes.
Additional daytime hours during summer camp season.
Occasional evenings or weekends for special events and field trips.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must have a valid South Carolina drivers license.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must possess a CDL, Class B drivers license with the PS endorsement and pass DOT Medical Physical, including drug screening.
- Must be able to pass a Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV), SLED and Sexual Offender background Checks.
