Via uses app-based technology to make transportation more efficient. We are reinventing shared rides to help reduce congestion, lower emissions, and get passengers to their destinations efficiently. In Newark, we are working with the City of Newark to offer an on-demand ridesharing service. We are partnering with independent contractor Driver Partners who will be able to use the Via Platform to connect with riders.

This service only operates on weekends:

Friday: 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Saturday: 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM

Sunday: 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM

Drive on your schedule! As an independent contractor, you control when you log onno minimum commitments.

Lease a vehicle from our vehicle partner to avoid wear and tear on your personal vehicle

To be eligible to operate on the Via Platform in Newark, you must:
Have a valid drivers license
Be 25 years of age or older
Have at least 1 year of driving history
Have a personal auto insurance policy
Have a 2015 or newer vehicle that is a 4-door sedan or SUV (No trucks permitted)
Pass a vehicle inspection
Pass a background check, including criminal and motor vehicle record checks (SSN required)
