Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers, including manual transmission trucks, across local, regional, or long-haul routes to deliver freight efficiently. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle maintenance reports in accordance with legal requirements. Route driving responsibilities include planning optimal paths to meet delivery schedules while managing traffic and road conditions effectively. Communicate professionally with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery times, load status, or any issues encountered during transit. Adhere strictly to safety protocols and traffic laws to promote a secure working environment for yourself and others. Requirements Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience operating manual transmission trucks is preferred. Proven truck driving experience with knowledge of freight handling, load & unload procedures, and route driving. Ability to operate various vehicle types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks. Familiarity with forklift operation is a plus for loading/unloading cargo efficiently. Strong understanding of safety regulations related to commercial driving and transportation logistics.
