Job Description

Job Title: Route Bus Driver - 2026-27 SY

Reports to: Transportation Director

Qualifications: Obtain a Commercial Driver's License, Pass Annual Physical, Pass Annual Drug Testings, take and pass yearly course work as needed, get Class B CDL with passenger endorsement.

Essential Responsibilities:

Obeys all traffic laws.

Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses

Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.

Reports undisciplined students to the transportation director.

Keep the assigned bus clean.

Fuel bus as needed.

Keeps to the assigned schedule.

Inspect each bus operation daily for mechanical defects.

Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.

Discharges students only at authorized stops.

Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.

Transports only authorized students.

Reports all accidents and completes required reports as directed by the transportation director.

Conduct emergency exit drills on a yearly basis.
