Non-medical Transportation Driver- SPLIT SHIFT

SARAH SENECA Residential Services is an agency that supports individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities in residential programs. We are seeking a safe reliable transportation driver to transport individuals to and from day programs.

Duties

Safely operate a wheelchair van or other vehicle to transport individuals to day program in the morning then pick them up and bring them back to the group home in evening
Assist passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the journey
Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of vehicles to ensure optimal operation and safety standards
Communicate clearly with passengers, team members, and dispatchers to coordinate schedules and address any concerns promptly
Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to uphold a high standard of driving excellence
Conduct pre-trip inspections, report vehicle issues, and document trips mileage and gas accurately in logs.
Provide excellent customer service by being friendly, approachable, and attentive to passenger needs
Show patience and understanding to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Requirements

Valid drivers license with a clean driving record; experience with shuttle driving, bus driving, or driving wheelchair van preferred
High school diploma or GED required
Must be at least 21 years of age for insurance purposes.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with passengers and team members
Ability to perform some lifting when assisting passengers or handling wheelchairs, walkers, etc.
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics to identify issues early and ensure safety compliance
Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer satisfaction
Must be able to handle multiple stops efficiently while maintaining professionalism under pressure
Being reliable and punctual is very important to this position since the individuals need to be able to get to program on time.
