Join our Transportation team as a Transit Operator! In this role, you will operate trolleys, buses, and minivans , providing our community with safe and reliable transportation. Each day, youll connect people to places whether its work, school, or daily errandswith care and customer service. Beyond driving, your responsibilities will include conducting pre-and post-trip maintenance checks to keep vehicles clean and welcoming. Youll also ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and help passengers requiring additional assistance.

With scheduled routes running seven days a week, we offer both morning and evening shifts. We will train you to obtain your Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement. And because we believe in supporting your professional growth, we facilitate ongoing training to continuously enhance your knowledge and skills.

What Youll Do in This Role:

  • Operate trolleys, buses, and minivans, accommodating passengers with disabilities and adhering to ADA requirements and federal regulations.
  • Perform regular safety checks and minor maintenance on vehicles, documenting any defects.
  • Drive designated routes according to schedule, prioritizing defensive driving techniques.
  • Ensure day-to-day operations comply with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) regulations, state, and city policies.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service and communicate effectively with dispatchers and other drivers.
  • Accurately record passenger, fuel, and mileage data.
  • Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.

You Have:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One year of experience operating passenger transportation vehicles is a plus.

You Will Succeed in This Role If You:

  • Understand transit operations, basic vehicle maintenance needs, and standard safety practices.
  • Communicate clearly, interact well with passengers and community members, and can respond calmly and effectively in a variety of situations.
  • Are comfortable operating transit vehicles and technology and can assist all passengersincluding passengers who need additional assistance and unescorted childrenin a variety of situations and weather conditions.

*Note: Upon employment, you will be expected to attain and maintain a valid CDL license with Passenger Endorsement, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator (CPR/AED), and First Aid certifications.
