Job Title: Support Engineer II
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Onsite)
Duration: 6 months (Extension/Conversion possible)
Pay Range : 35$/hr -40$/hr

Role Summary
- We are seeking a Part 107 certified Drone Operator / Support Engineer II with strong hands-on commercial drone flying experience.
- The role supports R&D initiatives focused on developing and testing advanced drone and aerial delivery technologies.
- The candidate will perform mission planning, drone operations, data collection, and lightweight maintenance in a highly safety-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate drones using remote control in manual (non-GPS) mode
- Execute data collection missions and flight operations
- Perform mission planning and operational readiness activities
- Conduct lightweight drone maintenance tasks
- Work variable schedules including night shifts (3:00 PM 11:30 PM)
- Travel to offsite locations daily using company-provided vehicles
- Adapt to changing schedules based on daylight and mission requirements
- Support R&D team in testing next-generation drone technologies
- Participate in operational safety and logistics planning
Must-Have Requirements
- Valid FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
- Minimum 2+ years of commercial drone piloting experience
- At least 50+ logged flight hours (professional experience)
- Experience flying larger commercial drones (not just DJI)
- Ability to fly in manual mode (no GPS assistance)
- Strong pre-flight planning skills
- Experience in aviation safety / Safety Officer role preferred
Physical ability to:
- Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Stand/walk 810 hours with breaks
- Perform frequent bending, squatting, pushing, and pulling
- Experience in commercial UAS industry operations
Nice to Have (Plusses):
- FPV drone flying experience
- Photography / videography experience
- Filming background
- Gaming or simulator experience
- Experience with Pixhawk-based systems
Work Conditions
