NOTICE OF POSITION VACANCY

POSITION: Bus Driver

SCHOOL: District

LENGTH OF CONTRACT: 180 days per year

PAY RATE: $51.26 per route / $20.00 per hour for ECA

• Additional compensation available through extracurricular assignments

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be 21 years of age and able to obtain CDL with certification to transport children.
• The ability to read and understand maps.
• Must have a clean driving record, and no federal convictions on the criminal background check.
• Must be able to pass a Federal CDL Physical.
• Must be able to pass the State Physical requirements Form and State Performance Standards.
• Must communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
• Must exhibit patience, consideration, understanding, even temperament and calmness under stressful situations.

DUTIES:

• Consults with Parents, building staff and Transportation office in regard to student discipline or safety.
• Follows the student's discipline process as outlined by the transportation department.
• Performs Pre/Post trip inspections both prior to and at the end of every run/route.
• Must be able to maintain order and discipline among the students while on the school bus.
• Must be able to understand and have the ability to handle emergency situations.
• Must have the ability to maintain a clean healthy environment by keeping the buses clean inside and out.
• Advise when equipment needs for repair.
• Stay on assigned routes, discharge students only at assigned stops and follow all safety standards.
• Reports all accidents and completes all required reporting or paperwork as directed.
