Summary of Job Duties: The Commercial Truck Driving Instructor, under the direction of the Director Business & Industry Relations ensures excellence in teaching and learning by providing high quality, relevant, and valued instruction in the subject matter.Faculty Responsibilities
Develop course syllabi, teaching resources, and related activities and provide instruction for assigned courses
Work effectively with the Director to develop, enhance, and promote the truck driving program
Effectively advise Consortium students
Maintain a weekly schedule consisting of at least 40 hours of combined instruction and office hours. Student advising shall be scheduled Monday through Friday during normal working hours or by appointment
Be available to instruct a minimum of one evening course as required to assist in providing responsible and flexible access to educational opportunities for students
Assist in providing services that develop and enhance students as members of the college community
Implement and use individual and program techniques that assess learning, improve instruction, and improve program outcomes
Actively participate in professional development activities to gain knowledge, understanding, and growth to remain current in the area of instructional responsibility
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
A current commercial drivers license
Three years accident-free commercial driving experience
A current DOT medical certification, with no drivers license suspended, cancelled, denied or revoked within the past 36 months
No more than eight (8) points of violations on the current driving record
Preferred Qualifications
An Associates degree from an accredited institution
Previous teaching experience
