Mounted Forklift Truck Driver St. George Area

We are seeking a Mounted Forklift Truck Driver based in the St. George area. This position operates a day cab straight truck equipped with a mounted forklift and a 36' pull trailer (see photo).

Position Details:

• Local routes in the St. George area with regular runs to Las Vegas and Northern Utah
• Home nightly (majority of the time)
• Occasional overnight trips may be needed; hotel accommodations will be provided

Job Summary Mounted Forklift Truck Driver (Local with some Regional Flexibility)

Operate mounted forklift-equipped trucks to transport and deliver palletized or bundled materials such as construction supplies, precast products, or building components to local job sites safely and efficiently. If local workload is reduced, drivers can be assigned regional routes pending driver availability. Responsibilities include loading, unloading, securing materials, route and fuel planning, and maintaining compliance with FMCSA and company regulations. Drivers are expected to maintain professional communication with dispatch, customers, and site personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure timely, reliable attendance and completion of daily assignments.
• Safely operate mounted forklift and flatbed equipment under various road and weather conditions.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report equipment conditions.
• Follow all federal, state, and local regulations for secure vehicle operation.
• Maintain accurate records using electronic logging devices (ELDs) and required paperwork.
• Load and unload materials using mounted forklift systems.
• Secure loads using appropriate equipment such as straps, chains, and tarps.
• Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and job site personnel.
• Report accidents, highway hazards, and violations as required.
• Keep truck and forklift clean and free of debris.
• Plan routes efficiently, including locating delivery sites and scheduling fuel stops.
• Be available for regional assignments if needed.
• May be required to work evenings and weekends depending on project needs.

Requirements

• License & Experience:
• Valid Class A CDL required. Minimum of one year of verified commercial driving experience or one year of experience in a skilled trade (e.g., construction, ranching/farming, mechanical work). Forklift certification preferred.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Must comply with FMCSA rules, including hours of service and vehicle inspection.
• Driving Record:
• No more than 2 citations in the last 3 years.
• No disqualifying violations (e.g., reckless driving, DUI, hit and run, speeding 15+ mph over limit, improper lane change, following too close, driving with suspended/revoked license).
• No DUI/DWI in a CMV and no more than one lifetime DUI/DWI.

Physical Abilities

• Lift up to 95 lbs, push/pull up to 150 lbs.
• Reach overhead up to 78 inches.
• Perform tasks involving bending, kneeling, climbing, squatting, and standing on varied surfaces (e.g., gravel, snow, ice, mud).
• Extended periods of sitting while driving.
• Visual requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Conditions

• Operate in various weather conditions without environmental controls.
• May require evening and weekend hours.
• Flexibility to transition between local mounted forklift deliveries and regional flatbed assignments as needed.
