Job Description
Bus Driver for Upward Bound - Part-time position
Redlands Community College is seeking qualified candidates to apply for a part-time Bus Driver position for its Upward Bound program. This is a federally funded, part-time position, specifically during the summer. The summer schedule will be Monday through Wednesday 6:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. & 3 p.m. - 5 p.m., while Thursday schedules will vary due to field trips or special events. Compensation for this position ranges from $15-$16 per hour. The primary responsibility of this position is to safely transport Upward Bound students to and from scheduled events, following all college policies and ensuring the safety of student participants during transit.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Operating a college vehicle to safely transport students to and from Upward Bound activities
Complying with Redlands Community College vehicle checkout and transportation policies
Ensuring the supervision and accountability of students while in transit
Communicating clearly and promptly with Upward Bound staff
Demonstrating knowledge of routes within Redlands Community College's five-county service area
Qualifications include:
Valid driver's license required; a valid Oklahoma Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements is preferred
Verifiable, safe driving record
Ability to pass a background check and motor vehicle report screening
Commitment to student safety
Strong communication skills
Preference will be given to applicants with both prior experience transporting students, and with a flexible schedule that allows for weekend availability. Familiarity with TRIO programs or working with first-generation, low-income students is a plus.

Redlands Community College is committed to providing a safe place to live, work, study and visit. Part of this effort includes sharing information regarding the safety and security of our campuses.
Redlands provides email notifications to all students, faculty and staff when a Clery Crime occurs in or near Redlands Community College campus or any of its sites. These notifications are primarily sent if the incident poses an ongoing safety threat as determined by the President of the College or his designee. The act requires colleges and universities to make timely warnings, known as Safety Alerts at Redlands, to campus community members about specific types of crime if an ongoing threat is believed to exist.
