Big Creek Construction is currently taking applications for Haul Truck Drivers/Equipment Hauler in the Lorena Tx area.
Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting the Haul Truck driver to properly maintain and transport heavy equipment or materials to designated location in a timely manner. In this job you will learn and assist with the regulations and operations of a haul truck
Job Description
Perform inspections of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights, turn signals and brakes
Experience with loading equipment and ensuring it is properly loaded and secure according to safety requirements
Communicate with Dispatcher and other Haul Truck Drivers using communication devices such as a two-ways radio or onboard computers
Properly follow all company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment.
Report any problems to your manager.
Perform daily pre & post- trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines and company policies.
Obey applicable laws and follow dispatch instructions.
Maintain daily vehicle mileage logs.
Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the Supervisor.
Must keep truck in a clean and orderly condition.
When working with co-workers, constant eye contact will be maintained when backing, communicating using hand signals or other movements.
Follow directions of manager as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite.
Assist in training less experienced employees on the proper operations, servicing and repair of equipment to further their abilities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Have a Class A CDL License (REQUIRED) Minimum 5 years (PREFERRED)
Some flatbed or lowboy experience helpful
No more than 2 moving violations within the last 3 years (REQUIRED)
Pass a Fit for Work Physical (REQUIRED)
Pass a Drug/Alcohol Test (REQUIRED)
Physical Demands
The employee is often required to sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to lift, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Ability to drive 10 hours a day up to 70 hours a week
Ability to enter and exit truck using 3 points of contact by pulling self in and lowering self out of truck
Ability to reach and manipulate arms and shoulders overhead
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Education
Possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
