About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, safety-focused CDL-A Route Driver to support our Rochester/Henrietta, NY facility. This role is responsible for completing local and regional deliveries of flooring materials to customer locations, job sites, and other designated delivery points.

The CDL-A Route Driver will have assigned route responsibilities and will also provide relief coverage when needed to support other drivers, delivery volume, or business needs. We are also looking for a team player ready to jump in and support warehouse operations during downtime off the road. This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, professional, customer-focused, personable and comfortable building strong relationships with customers while representing Spartan Surfaces on the road and at each delivery stop.

What Youll Do

• Safely operate CDL-A commercial vehicles to complete local and regional deliveries
• Drive and maneuver 36-foot and 53-foot trailers
• Complete assigned route deliveries in a timely, safe, and professional manner
• Provide relief coverage when needed for other drivers, additional routes, or business needs
• Deliver flooring materials to customers, job sites, and other assigned delivery locations
• Secure loads properly and ensure products are transported safely and without damage
• Verify delivery details, materials, quantities, and paperwork before and during deliveries
• Obtain required signatures, delivery confirmations, and documentation at each stop
• Communicate with dispatch, operations, and team members regarding delivery status, route updates, delays, or customer needs
• Provide excellent customer service and build positive relationships with customers
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT and company safety standards
• Report vehicle maintenance needs, safety concerns, route issues, or delivery discrepancies promptly
• Follow all DOT regulations, traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures
• Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and delivery records as required
• Support the team in the warehouse when not actively delivering, as needed
• Work overtime when needed to support route coverage or business needs

What Were Looking For

• Valid CDL-A license required
• Current DOT medical card required
• Minimum of 1 year of verifiable CDL-A driving experience required; 2+ years preferred
• Experience operating 36-foot and/or 53-foot trailers preferred
• Clean driving record and strong commitment to safe driving practices
• Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles in varying traffic, road, and weather conditions
• Professional, customer-focused approach with strong communication skills
• Must be a people person who enjoys building relationships with customers
• Team-player mentality and willingness to help where needed
• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently throughout the day
• Ability to read and understand delivery paperwork, route information, and safety requirements
• Comfortable using driver logs, delivery technology, ELD systems, or related tools as required
• Must be able to pass required background check, drug screening, and any applicable DOT requirements

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move carpet cushions and related flooring materials up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit, drive, enter and exit the vehicle, inspect equipment, and perform delivery-related tasks throughout the workday
• Ability to safely secure loads and handle delivery-related equipment as needed
• Ability to bend, reach, climb, and move around commercial vehicles and delivery sites safely
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather and job-site conditions

Schedule & Overtime

This role is scheduled Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM2:30 PM, with flexibility required based on delivery routes and business needs. Overtime may be required when providing relief coverage for other drivers or supporting additional delivery volume. No regular weekend schedule is expected.
