CDL Asphalt Distributor/Tack Truck Driver

Rogers Group is currently seeking candidates to fill a CDL (Tanker Endorsement Required) Asphalt Distributor/Tack Truck Driver position in the Tuscumbia, AL area, part of the Alabama SMA. This position works with the paving crews on various projects such as commercial parking lots, city streets, county roads and interstate highways. The successful candidate for this role will have previous CDL driving experience, and preferably prior experience working in an asphalt paving operation. They must have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

Job Responsibilities:

• Drive Asphalt Distributor/Tack Truck in front of paving operation to spray tack and prepare the surface for paving.
• Work behind the paver with a shovel or asphalt rake as needed, in between operating the truck.
• Operate other paving and heavy equipment as needed - such as rollers, back hoes, and skid steers.
• Other duties, as assigned by lead or foreman.

Qualifications:

• Individual must be dedicated to operating safely at all times.
• Valid CDL license with tanker endorsement.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an asphalt paving operation - preferred, not required.
• Physical ability to perform routine maintenance and daily cleaning of spray system on Distributor.
• Ability and willingness to complete various labor tasks, as needed, as part of the construction crew.
• Previous experience operating heavy equipment is a plus.
• Ability to maintain composure in stressful traffic or other situations.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends.
• Team player with ability to get along with others.
• Safe driving record.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen.
