Here, you will work alongside passionate physicians, nurses and other caregivers in a family-oriented, supportive environment .

As a Driver on our team, you will help create a comfortable and safe environment within your community. In this role, you will transport a variety of materials between doctors offices and other Cleveland Clinic facilities and teams such as Materials Handling. This opportunity will allow you to ensure timeliness in the delivery of equipment or specimens for patient care and diagnoses. A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday from 8:00AM 4:30PM, with holiday requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Transport personnel, bulk supplies and mail between hospitals and ambulatory sites.

  • Provide world class customer service and safe and efficient transportation to patients and caregivers.

  • Maintain a clean and efficient transportation vehicle.

  • Transport individuals to and from the parking lots to requested campus locations.

  • Educate those requesting transportation, providing accurate information for pickup times and locations so there is no miscommunication.

  • Perform other transports on campus and off-property as required and/or requested.

  • Perform daily preventative maintenance of assigned vehicle completing maintenance checklists.

  • Oversee maintenance records and upkeep of multiple company vehicles.

  • Transport incoming US postal mail and inner-office mail between sites at prearranged and scheduled times.

  • Follow departmental accident reporting and incident investigation procedures.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High S chool D iploma or GED

  • Valid D rivers L icense (VDL) with no more than four points on record

  • Experience driving a box truck

  • Eligibility of insurance as determined by CCFs insurance carriers requirements

  • Meet security clearance for confidential information

  • General computer knowledge

  • Non-smoker

  • Ability to speak fluent English

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Experience in a similar position

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.

  • Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time

  • Ability to travel throughout the Cleveland Clinic health system.

  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.

  • Ability to operate emergency equipment.

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.

  • Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds (lbs.)

  • Ability to move/transport items weighing up to 50 pounds (lbs.)

  • Ability to drive.

  • Ability to inspect equipment.

  • Ability to distinguish color.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Latex gloves on hand in vehicle. Seat belt required to be worn at all times.

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
