Long Haul Truck Driver (OTR) Jobs in Tennessee
A Long Haul Truck Driver, also known as Over-the-Road (OTR) driver, plays a critical role in the transportation industry by delivering goods over long distances across the country. Before becoming a Long Haul Truck Driver, a person may have held roles such as a Delivery Driver, a Warehouse Associate, or a commercial vehicle driver. These jobs provide valuable experience in handling goods, understanding delivery processes, and operating commercial vehicles. To qualify for an OTR position, an individual must possess a high school diploma and a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Some companies might prefer candidates with a professional truck driving school certification. Also, due to the long hours spent on the road, candidates must have a clean driving record and should pass physical fitness and drug tests.
